USA SOFTBALL ANNOUNCED NINE USA SOFTBALL NATIONAL UMPIRE SCHOOLS.

USA Softball announced nine USA Softball National Umpire Schools (NUS), including an Advanced National Umpire School for Fast Pitch, that will take place across the country from November, 2018 through June, 2019. The schools will take place in nine different states across the United States: Alabama, California, Michigan, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, Rhode Island, Texas, and Wyoming.

Each USA Softball NUS is run by a team of National Umpire staff members, who serve as the clinicians. With a ratio of at least one clinician per 25-30 students, each participant will receive hands-on personal instruction on both fast pitch and slow pitch umpiring including base and plate mechanics.  At the Fast Pitch Advanced Umpire School, instruction is focused on fast pitch only while the ratio is one instructor per 10 students.  Attendees at a USA Softball NUS can expect discussions on rule changes for the upcoming 2019 season while developing and enhancing their skills with lectures and on-field drills.

Registration fees for USA Softball NUS vary by location. To register for an upcoming USA Softball NUS or an Advanced Umpire School, please contact the school coordinator listed on the National Umpire School list below. Please note that only certain schools are currently open for registration, while others will open up when additional information becomes available.

The purpose of the USA Softball National Umpire School is to develop each student's individual talents and skills as an umpire. Because of your interest, we realize that you have the pride and attitude it takes to become one of the best softball umpires in the nation. Our goal is to bring out the best in your talent and ability.

Each USA Softball National Umpire School is run by a team of no less than three National Umpire staff members. Each member is an experienced instructor with a boundless knowledge of all aspects of the game of softball. With a ratio of at least one clinician per 25 students, each participant will receive hands-on personal instruction throughout the school.  At the Fast Pitch Advanced Umpire School, instruction is focused on fast pitch only while the ratio is one instructor per 10 students.
